The Origin
Born in London, bred in Essex, DT Films was envisioned by Destiny Samuels, a digital creator, now based in Bristol, UK.
At just 14 years old, I discovered a growing passion for documenting life through photography and videography.
It all started in secondary school with a really cool friend who gave me her camera to borrow. I found so much joy in capturing the people, places and little moments around me. Videography become my first love!
As the years went on, that curiosity only grew. During my A-Levels, I found myself spending far more time than I probably should have editing and creating videos of school life. And when I finally had enough money to buy my own camera, I knew this was more than just a hobby — I had found something I truly loved.
There’s something incredibly special about being able to relive a memory through visual storytelling. The warmth of a familiar smile, the sound of a loved one’s voice, the little moments we might otherwise forget — these are the things that bring memories back to life.
While I am law graduate, currently navigating the corporate world, I have always been a creative at heart. That feeling of comfort, warmth and nostalgia is what first inspired my love for capturing life. And years later, it remains at the heart of why I do what I do.
